Dance Arts Academy’s Performance and Competitive Company programs are structured to meet dancers where they are in their journey—whether they’re discovering their love for performing or training for advanced competition. Each level focuses on technical growth, artistic expression, and teamwork, ensuring that every dancer builds confidence and skill in a supportive environment.
- Performance Company (Ages 5-13)
Designed for dancers who love to perform at local events and parades, these programs offer a fun and engaging way to develop technique while experiencing the joy of entertaining audiences. With age-appropriate training, dancers improve coordination, musicality, and stage presence while forming lasting friendships. - Competitive Company (Ages 8-17)
For dancers ready to train at a higher level, Competitive Company provides structured technique classes, choreography, and performance opportunities at regional competitions. Dancers receive professional feedback to refine their skills while learning the importance of dedication, discipline, and perseverance. - Pre-Professional Company (Ages 9-17, After One Year on Competitive Company)
For serious dancers looking to train at an elite level, Pre-Professional Company offers additional technique classes, out-of-state competitions, and convention experiences. With intensive training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, this program prepares dancers for the next step in their performance careers.

Competitive Company
Dance Arts Academy’s Competitive Company is designed for dancers ready to push their skills further and experience the thrill of competition. Through intensive training, choreography, and performance opportunities, dancers refine their technique, build resilience, and grow as both artists and athletes. With a focus on jazz, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop, our competitive dancers train year-round and receive feedback from adjudicators at regional and national competitions.
Dancers in this program develop discipline, confidence, and teamwork while learning to perform with precision and artistry. Competitions provide a valuable learning experience, allowing dancers to set goals, take on new challenges, and celebrate their achievements alongside their teammates.
The Junior Competitive Company is designed for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level while gaining valuable performance and competition experience. This program focuses on building strong technical foundations in ballet, jazz, and lyrical, while instilling discipline, confidence, and teamwork. Dancers receive expert instruction and participate in competitions that encourage growth and artistic development.
Program Requirements:
- Two summer intensives to enhance technique and conditioning
- Choreography sessions throughout summer (based on availability)
- Boot camp week in August for focused training and preparation
- Weekly classes (September – May): 1 Jazz, 1 Lyrical, 1 Ballet class & 1 Company class
- Four local competitions to showcase skills and receive professional feedback
- Optional solos, duos, and trios for dancers looking to expand their stage experience
This program provides a strong foundation for young competitive dancers, helping them grow in both skill and confidence while being part of a supportive and inspiring team.
The Competitive Company is designed for dancers looking to refine their technique, perform at a high level, and gain valuable competition experience. With a focus on jazz, lyrical, ballet, and contemporary, this program challenges dancers to grow artistically and technically while fostering teamwork and dedication.
Program Requirements:
- Three summer intensives to strengthen technique and prepare for choreography
- Choreography sessions scheduled during summer classes
- Boot camp week in August for intensive training and team building
- Weekly classes (September–May): 1 Jazz, 1 Lyrical, 1 Ballet class
- Four local competitions to showcase progress and receive adjudicator feedback
- 45-minute rehearsals biweekly per routine (September–May)
- Dancers cast in contemporary or hip hop routines must take a technique class in the same style
- Optional travel to conventions with the Pre-Professional Company (non-competitive)
- Once casting is complete, dancers can select which numbers they would like to participate in based on their placement, availability, and personal commitment to rehearsals and performances

The Pre-Professional Company is designed for dancers committed to refining their technique, expanding their artistry, and gaining high-level performance experience. This elite program provides intensive training, competition opportunities, and access to industry-leading instruction at conventions. With a strong emphasis on ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, dancers develop the strength, versatility, and stage presence needed for advanced performance opportunities.
Program Requirements:
- Four summer intensives to enhance technique and prepare for choreography
- Choreography scheduled during summer class sessions
- Boot camp week in August for focused training and team building
- Weekly classes (September–May): 1 Jazz, 1 Lyrical, 2 Ballet classes
- Four local competitions for adjudicated feedback and growth
- Two out-of-state convention/competitions for additional training and exposure
- 45-minute rehearsals biweekly per routine (September–May)
- Dancers cast in contemporary or hip hop routines must take a technique class in the same style
This program is ideal for dancers who are ready to push their training further, experience high-caliber competition, and develop the skills needed for pre-professional opportunities.
